Bill Pekar & The Rainey Brothers

Shiner, Texas is home base for veteran singer/songwriter Bill Pekar. Shiner is known for its beer and the Spoetzl Brewery but Bill has been “brewing up some new tunes for a new project in 2018-2019.


The historic Shiner brewery is a proud sponsor of Bill Pekar and his band “The Rainey Brothers”. Pekar has two CDs to his credit which were released on the independent “Corn Fed Records” and is still selling copies via his website,, iTunes and Amazon Music.


The first album, “The First Five Years”, put Pekar on the Texas Music Charts with four singles including the Aggie/Longhorn love song, “Colors Are All The Same” and “The Koozie Song”. The second record had hits “On A Country Road” and “Hide The Whiskey”.


Bill Pekar has shared the stage with artists from Nashville to Texas. Bill and the band have performed at the Nashville Fan Fair with the likes of Lee Roy Parnell and Miranda Lambert. Bill Pekar & the Rainey Brothers have also shared the stage with Brad Paisley, Radney Foster, Hal Ketchum and others.


The band consists of musicians with years of experience under their belts. They have played in bands with diverse styles of music. They have performed in Texas and all around the world.


Bill Pekar plays acoustic and electric guitar along with harmonica. He is the lead vocalist on all original songs and some cover tunes. He has performed with Bobby Allen Jones and had his own bands, Sands of Deen, Misty Daze and Nobody’s Home.


Damon Williams handles the bass guitar duties. He also plays acoustic guitar and handles all the harmonies. Past gigs for Damon include 4 Wheel Drive, Haze, Leather & Lace, 59 South, Texas Armadillo Band and Bobby Allen Jones.


Clinto Robinson plays electric guitar and acoustic guitar and sings lead and background on some of the cover tunes. Clinto formally played with The Palominos, The Drifters of Victoria and The Taylor Brothers.


Bobby Kallus is the drummer/percussionist for the group. He has performed with Texas Accent, Kross Country, The Velvets, Drugstore Cowboys, Gary Stewart and Jimmy LaFave.
